Ryan Joseph Gallery is elated to announce our next exhibition; “Utopia”, a solo exhibition by Molly Gruninger. You may recognize Molly’s work from previous features in group exhibitions over the years, with us and other galleries. However, this will be Molly’s first solo show and we couldn’t be more honored for the opportunity to show Molly’s massive talent on a larger scale.
Molly Gruninger:
Molly Gruninger is a graphic designer and artist with a B.F.A. in Visual Communication from Ball State University. Her work explores the relationship between the self and its surroundings as a means to highlight both sociological issues and the ways in which we perceive and internalize changing environments and ideas. Molly has always been fascinated by life’s evolution and the different ways that people interpret the world. It is by merging subjects with the physical elements that encapsulate this world that she represents the way our surroundings, in turn, shape us.

Molly shares the following thoughts on "Utopia":
“With my current series, I further explore this relationship through the context of a changing climate and the uncertainty we all face about the future. The overwhelm of challenges to come solicit a tug of war between cynicism and hope, and forces us to question the role we’ll come to play as the story of humanity continues to be written. This existential woe insists upon a reckoning of our complex human nature. But despite our faults, within the tangled mess heap that we are lies a tiny glimmer of hope that is human ingenuity. As we gaze into the future in wonder and suspense, we can only imagine what we’ll do with our utopia.”
