We're thrilled to welcome Hugo D. Villa for his debut solo exhibition in Denver, Pleasure Surfaces.
Hugo D. Villa is a Mexican artist currently based in Guadalajara, who studied Visual Arts and painting orientation at Guadalajara University from 2005 to 2008. His work has been exhibited individually in Australia, Germany, the U.S.A. and Mexico. Additionally, he has participated in various group shows in Mexico, the U.S.A., Denmark, and Australia.
In regards to his new exhibition, Hugo presents:
"The pictorial exhibition, Pleasure Surfaces, invites the viewer to delve into the work as an exercise in synesthesia; to touch with their eyes, peek into each hole, listen to the color and savor the viscosity in order to stretch and twist the limits of your perception.
Each work traces a journey through the confused mass of innocent shapes and suggestive textures or vice versa but always dotted with the sweetness and vibration of color that leads us to ramble between the figurative and the abstract that characterizes the artist's work."
